The Dongfeng name carries deep military roots. As one of China’s earliest military watch manufacturers, Seagull designed the original Dongfeng to meet strict combat standards. This modern reissue preserves that tactical DNA with a no-nonsense, field-ready design. Every detail is conceived around real-world scenarios—from covert movement in harsh terrain to precise time coordination. The dial’s central crosshair motif (on most versions) echoes optical sights, reinforcing its mission-driven identity and honoring the operational spirit of China’s field forces.

The 45mm case is crafted from robust 316L stainless steel with a matte brushed finish to eliminate glare. A unidirectional matte tachymeter bezel and carbon-fiber dial further suppress reflections under strong light. Whether in desert sun, mountain terrain, or dense forest, the watch remains discreet yet legible. Select versions feature a spark-textured dial, balancing rugged utility with visual depth—ensuring clarity and stealth in environments where reflection is not an option.

A grenade-inspired crown positioned at 4 o’clock allows easy operation even with gloves, while reducing wrist interference during movement. On high-spec models, an additional 2 o’clock crown controls an inner 24-hour ring to prevent nighttime reading errors. Protective crown guards shield both controls from impact, safeguarding the movement during extreme activities. Green and red high-spec editions integrate compass bearings and Morse code into the inner ring, blending functional utility with tactical intrigue.

Powering the watch is Seagull’s in-house ST2130 automatic movement, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 28 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve. Known for accuracy and durability, it reflects Seagull’s mastery of mechanical fundamentals. A sapphire crystal rated at Mohs hardness 9 ensures superior scratch resistance, while 100 meters of water resistance supports real outdoor use. High-spec models retain a solid caseback for maximum structural integrity, while standard versions offer an exhibition back for modern appeal.
