2023: The 68th Anniversary

The Seagull Watch holds a significant place in horological history as a Chinese mechanical timepiece brand—and this is the year of its 68th anniversary.

2021

In September 2021, legendary Chinese women's volleyball player Lang Ping signed on as a brand ambassador for China's Seagull Watch brand, becoming the first brand ambassador since the launch of Seagull's brand revitalization plan.

2016

Seagull's inheritance of intangible cultural heritage is endless. In 2016, starting with the Seagull 'Artist' series wristwatches, combined with crafts like 'Hua Si' and 'Shu Embroidery', Seagull inherits Eastern cultural craftsmanship and aesthetics.

2015

Master watchmakers created the 'Connoisseur' collection. In 2015, Seagull Watch launched the 'Connoisseur' collection, permeating Seagull's 'artisan spirit' throughout."

2007-2010

Appreciating three grand complications, witnessing extraordinary strength. In 2007, Seagull's perpetual calendar wristwatch was publicly exhibited in Hong Kong, China. This signified Seagull's successful mastery of the "three grand complications" - tourbillon, minute repeater and perpetual calendar. In 2009, Seagull launched its first triple minute repeater perpetual calendar high complication wristwatch at the Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Show. In 2010, an ultra-complicated wristwatch integrating the "three grand complications" of tourbillon, perpetual calendar and triple minute repeater, was custom ordered and collected privately for over 1 million RMB, causing sensational ripples within the industry once again.

2006-2011

More than just a minute repeater, it represents achieving international standards. In 2006, China’s first ‘double minute repeater’ was independently developed and launched by Seagull Watch, representing that China’s watchmaking industry had reached a new level in craftsmanship, technology, materials and philosophy. In 2008 and 2011, Seagull launched limited editions of ‘triple minute repeater’ and ‘automaton triple minute repeater’ watches.

2005-2007

Inheriting classics, Seagull successfully developed tourbillon. In 2005, Seagull Watch successfully independently designed and developed tourbillon mechanical watches. The product technology and craftsmanship are at the domestic leading level. The brand embarked on the challenging journey to be ranked among the top three classic complex mechanisms in the global watchmaking industry, gradually breaking the monopoly of high-end complex watches held by Swiss and German brands. In 2007, China's first 'double tourbillon watch' was successfully designed and developed by Seagull Watch.

1973-1975

Going global, showing the world Chinese timepieces. In 1973, the brand entered the international market with the 'Dongfeng' watch, which was highly praised as 'exceptional and reaching the pinnacle'. In 1975, the first internationally standard ladies' mechanical watch was mass produced. With its delicate design and precise timekeeping, it dominated the domestic market.

1966

Technological milestone, interpreting generational classics. In 1966, the new mechanical watch 'East Wind', independently designed and manufactured by Seagull watchmaking masters, was successfully developed and mass-produced. With superb quality, it became one of the classic 'Three Great Pieces'.

1965

Soaring ambitions, a legend that has never landed. In 1965, under the classified code name '304', China's 'first aviation watch' (chronograph) was successfully developed specifically for the PLA Air Force. It passed over 10 stringent aviation watch tests and 1,400 finished watches were officially assembled and delivered to PLA Air Force frontline units.

1955-1957

China's watchmaking industry turned a new page. In 1955, China's first watch 'Five Star' created the legendary beginning of the industry. In 1957, building on the core technology of the first watch 'Five Star', the '51' watch was quickly launched. This was China's first commercialized watch, ending China's history of 'able to repair watches but not make them.
